Guest speaker Wendy Byrd, Manager, HR and Employee and Organizational Development, gave a great presentation on Appreciation Languages. In a surprising turn of events, we got snow! That’s right, in January we were hit with a cold snap that resulted in a few inches of snow and ice. This prompted us to close for a couple of days, along with the rest of the city. The people of Valdosta took full advantage of the wintery white stuff. With socks on hands, they were out making snowmen and snow angels, as well as “sledding” on bogey boards and kayaks and whatever else they could find. Now that Spring has officially sprung, the focus will begin to shift to launching PHC Direct. In case you are unfamiliar, PHC Direct is our newest program. An alternative to health insurance, it is a direct primary care program for small business owners and non-profits. For an affordable monthly fee eligible employees can enroll and be seen at our clinic. For more information visit our website, www.phcvaldosta.org. During Hurrican Helene a tree came down on their building making it necessary for everyone to relocate to the dental building next door. This transition was done smoothly and cheerfully, and everyone is doing a fantastic job of making the best of a difficult situation. Thank you, Sherry Harrell, Debra Saucier, Debbie Pringle and Sheila Bruhl.
